Asphalt Shingle Roofing
Architectural asphalt shingles installed as a complete system: deck, underlayment, flashing, shingles and ridge.
When repairs stop making sense, we tear the old roof off down to the deck, fix what is underneath and install a complete new roof system. You get a written estimate before any work starts.
A roof is a system, and every layer matters. We remove the old shingles and underlayment, inspect the wood deck and replace any boards or sheets that are soft or rotted. Then the new roof goes on in order: drip edge at the edges, ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment over the deck, starter shingles, field shingles, and hip and ridge caps.
Flashing around walls, vents and other penetrations is replaced or reset so water has no path in. When the last shingle is down, we clean the property and run a magnetic sweeper over the lawn and driveway to pick up nails.
Age is the first clue, but condition matters more. Shingles that curl, crack or shed granules into the gutters are near the end. So is a roof with leaks in more than one place, soft spots underfoot or a deck that sags between rafters.
If the roof is mostly sound and the trouble is in one area, a repair is usually the better buy. We will tell you which one you need. Our goal is to earn your referral, and that does not happen by selling a roof to someone who needs a repair.

Hoff The Roof Contractor is family owned and operated, with no private equity behind it. Our lead installer is Amish, and the work is held to that standard of craftsmanship: straight courses, proper nailing, clean flashing.
We use quality materials and we regularly beat the other bids on a job. Ask us to walk through your estimate line by line so you can compare it fairly against any other quote you have.

Most residential roof replacements take one to three days once work starts. Size, pitch, the number of layers to remove and the weather all affect the schedule. We give you the expected timeline with your estimate.
We tear the old roof off. A tear-off lets us inspect and repair the deck, replace the underlayment and install new flashing. Covering old shingles hides problems and adds weight to the structure.
Damaged decking is replaced before the new roof goes on, because shingles cannot be nailed properly into soft wood. Your estimate explains how deck repair is priced so there are no surprises.
No. We do need access to the driveway and the outside of the house. It is loud, so many people plan to be out during the tear-off. We will let you know the schedule ahead of time.
Move vehicles out of the driveway, take down fragile items hanging on walls, and cover anything stored in the attic. We protect landscaping around the house and clean up when the job is done.
Yes. We inspect the roof and give you a written estimate at no charge. Bring your other quotes if you have them. We regularly beat other bids, and we will show you where the numbers differ.
